> MCP capability handling is directional, not a generic set intersection. In revision `2026-07-28`, clients attach their capabilities to every request and servers expose capabilities through `server/discover`; older revisions exchange the two directions during `initialize`. Correct code selects the contract by revision before it gates any operation.
