The platform team's incident agent connects to three MCP servers. ticketdesk runs locally over stdio and speaks both protocol eras. GitHub's official server is remote, behind OAuth, and its README lists 92 tool entries across 22 toolsets. The reference filesystem server runs over stdio too, but it is built on the version 1 TypeScript SDK and speaks only the handshake revisions. Before the agent answers its first question, its client layer has to launch two subprocesses and open one HTTP connection, find out which era each server speaks, turn three tool lists into one list the model accepts, keep that list byte-identical across requests so prompt caching works, and be ready to put a confirmation form in front of a person when ticketdesk asks for one.
