Cost Optimization

Anthropic launched Claude Sonnet 5 at an introductory $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with a rise to $3 and $15 scheduled for 1 September 2026. The rise was cancelled, and $2 and $10 is now the standard price. Had it gone ahead, the claims assistant's bill from Chapter 1 would have grown from $5,964.75 a month to $8,947, and that is the kind of number people expect a cost chapter to chase.
